It’s that time of the year again to just take off a couple of weeks and relax with my feet in the sand, getting a tan. My boyfriend and I are taking a trip back to my home and it’s going to be his first time! Since I have been in a winter fashion coma I felt that it was extremely necessary to blow the dust off of all of my warm weather clothing, and cram as much as I could into my suitcase. Here are just a few style inspirations that I am obsessed with right now.
This Christmas I took a MUCH needed trip to D.C. to spend time with my parents. I found this cute little store (that I feel ashamed that I never even knew it existed) that every single female should know about. It’s called Charming Charlie and boy can I tell you this store was nothing less than charming! I fell in love with all the glitter, clothes, hats, jewelry, oh and did I mention the amazing prices! Fall is here! Woke up this morning wrapped up in bed with a cool breeze on my face. Love this time of the year not only for the weather but the fashion. This year one look I am really loving is a classic trench coat with casual layers. My next favorite thing this fall is stripes and lots of um. They always add a bit of pazzaz to all those layers of clothing.
So here are just a few of my favorite outfit selections. =)
S’mores are in; my ultimate favorite thing about this season (and just about every other time of the year too). Since it’s still in between hot and cold weather it’s fun to make this indoor s’more sundae instead of out by a hot fire. You still get the delicious fall treat without having to risk getting bit by the skeeters.
Graham Cracker Crust
3/4 cup graham cracker crumbs (about 5 whole graham crackers)
3 tablespoons butter, melted
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
4 scoops vanilla ice cream
1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows
Quick Chocolate Sauce:
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons whole milk
For the graham cracker crust: Mix the graham cracker crumbs, butter, sugar, cinnamon and a sprinkle of salt together in a bowl. Firmly press the crust into muffin tins to make individual crusts. Top each crust with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Press the mini marshmallows into the ice cream, covering the scoop completely. You will have 4 s’more “domes”. Freeze at least 1 hour.
For the quick chocolate sauce: Immediately before serving, heat the broiler to low. Toss the chocolate chips with the milk in a ramekin or small bowl and microwave 30 seconds, stir until smooth and set aside. Place the s’more domes under the broiler until marshmallows brown, about 30 seconds. Watch them constantly as they burn easily. Place each s’more on a plate and drizzle with the chocolate sauce.
